Bike Couriers Bicycle Shop-Louisville, KY
This shop is very "green" (even the owners last name is Green) They have vegetables planted in the parking lot, in the cracks in the sidewalk and any little space, dill is growing in the cracks and a big tomato plant. Plus, they are reclaiming rain water for the community garden, and they have a great selection of bikes, accessories and wonderful service.

Sin Cycle - Evansville Indiana
If your in the area stop in and see the guys at Sin Cycle on Franklin Street in Evansville, Indiana, it's a very interesting store. First off, you're greeted by a screen door, that's right, a screen door. Out of the hundreds of bike shops that I visit, this is the only one with a screen door--love it! Say hi to Salsa, the shop kitty, and check out the interesting light fixtures made by a local.

| I took this photo during the summer at Raccoon Mountain in Chattanooga, TN and this month it's featured in Bike Monkey Magazine. An old bike friend, Kim Dow, is the Creative Director, if you haven't seen the magazine or subscribed, check it out, it's the most cutting edge and interesting bike magazine that I've seen in a long time. |

BIG SOUTH FORK MOUNTAIN BIKING
Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area is located about an hour north of Crossville, Tennessee and has some great mountain biking trails. The National Park also has a campground with showers, a pool thats open in the summer, gift shop and Visitors Center and if you loop all the mountain bike trails together with some gravel roads you've got a 50+ mile ride.
My favorite trails to ride there are the Grand Gap and John Muir trails. I start at the visitors center and ride the gravel road out to Grand Gap then hook into John Muir and ride the gravel roads back, which makes for about 21 miles. These trails have several spots that run right along the bluff tops and offer spectacular views of the Big South Fork River Gorge. Make a note that Grand Gap and John Muir trails are officially only open to bike riding during weekdays.

length from 20 miles to 50 miles. Some rides are gravel roads, some trail, or a mix, and always fun. The thing about these rides that make them so special is that they are very inclusive. You do need to be in some sort of cycling shape, but there's always someone to ride with and nobody gets left behind, they wait at turns and
