Versailles State Park, Indiana

Mountain Biking at Versailles State Park in central Indiana.

Versailles State Park, Indiana, is located in the southeastern part of the state. The park has a swimming pool, campground, lakes and is the second largest State Park in Indiana. Their is an entrance fee, but well worth supporting the park system. Maps are available at the entrance. Click here to get the 24 Hours of DINO race map of the trails.

The trails are taken care of by the Hoosier Mountain Bike Association, and there's at least 13 miles of trail that's all flowing slalom like singletrack. The trails are built really nice, even the first large climb from the parking lot that takes you to the top of the ridge is built in a nice flowing manner that makes the climb enjoyable. These cool "rock chairs" are on the Cliffside trail, and the trail is right on the side of the cliff overlooking the river. Yes, this is the trail, yes it is a cliff, thanks for the little rock pile barrier on the curve to help prevent going off the trail. And this is part of a 24 hour race course, this will be fun in the dark. The wildflowers are just amazing, these are "shooting stars". If you get the chance this is a place to go and ride. -Enjoy!
